Well, it's that time of year again. It's time for my annual Christmas photo.
Technically, these haven't been annual photos. I haven't done this every year. But I did publish a new one last Christmas (titled "Angel Light"), and I plan to do a new Christmas image each year from now on.
This year, I've been concentrating a lot on nature photography, so it seems appropriate that I do a nature shot at Christmas. Naturally, that means a Poinsettia:
I must give credit to my lovely wife for the idea to use a Poinsettia for this year's shot. I was having a hard time coming up with a good idea. The things I was trying just didn't seem to work. She recommended this, and it definitely did work. I just added to the idea by posing the plant in front of our Christmas tree.
The small aperture (f/22) created some nice starburst effects in the background lights. I love doing that.
This and all of my Christmas shots from previous years can be seen in my Christmas gallery.
From all of us here at MarkAliPhotos.com, have a Merry Christmas.
