Decorative iron work is just one of many types of architectural details seen throughout the Savannah historic district.

Here, I'll show you...

Here's a gate:

Finally, here's a fence:

In this case, it's not only the fence that makes this last image interesting. This fence surrounds Mercer House, the scene of real-life events that were central to the story in the book "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil". (You can't go to Savannah without hearing all about that book.) 

Anyway, it's December and I'm still rolling out these travel photos. But Christmas is approaching. Soon I'll publish my yearly Christmas image - stay tuned.
